Temple Mount status quo הסטטוס קוו בהר הבית

Concepts

The arrangement set by Moshe Dayan days after the Six-Day War. Israel keeps security control of the Temple Mount, while the Islamic Waqf, linked to Jordan, runs its daily affairs. Jews and other non-Muslims may visit at set hours but not pray there, and the Western Wall became the main place of Jewish prayer. A 1967 law protects access to holy places for all faiths. The status quo is contested: some Jews campaign for the right to pray on the Mount, and many Palestinians fear any change.
