People per square kilometer of total area, 2024 to 2025 estimates. Israel in blue, Iran in brown, the Arab League and Iran combined in slate.
Israel has about 429 people per square kilometer, the same as the Netherlands and denser than Belgium, Japan, the United Kingdom, Germany and Italy. The Arab League and Iran together have about 38, because most of their land is desert.
Density is total population divided by total area, so it is lower than the density of the inhabited land in desert countries such as Egypt, where most people live along the Nile.
